Q. Is there a fee to audition?
A. There is no fee to audition. There is a registration fee of $325.00 per child for our summer program. We offer family discounts, scholarships and payment plans. This fee includes a t-shirt. Information on payment deadlines will be sent out once you have accepted your part.
Q. What if I can't audition?
A. If you are not available on Sunday, March 22, 2020 - please contact us ASAP to arrange an audition prior to that date.
Q. Does everyone who auditions participate?
A. Yes! Everyone will be placed somewhere in the show. After auditions and the list is posted you will have a little time to accept or decline your part. We are all a team putting together this production!
Q. What if I don't audition or I want to sign-up after auditions have already taken place?
A. We accept children in our ensemble until the day we start in June.
Q. What happens at auditions?
A. At auditions, all students will be taught a dance routine as part of the audition process. Students will go in groups of 10-12 at a time to read and sing in front of our Director and Music Director. You ONLY have one opportunity to audition! Do your best! Smile! Be loud and strong and accurate!
Q. What time are auditions?
A. Between 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Ages 5-11 will audition with their age group at 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm.
Ages 12-18 will audition with their age group at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm.
*We try to send children up in small groups within their similar age groups. If there are siblings or carpools coming together, we will do our best to accommodate age groups together.
*Depending on the size of groups at each audition time; sometimes we are not able to separate age groups.
Q. Are there call backs?
A.We may need to call back a few students. If we have any call backs, they will be at approximately 5:30 pm. We will notify students at the audition. If you are not asked to come back, it does not mean anything! Last summer we had no call backs.
Q. When are rehearsals - what does the summer schedule look like?
A. Our tentative start date is Monday, June 22nd. Rehearsals may be as follows:
Leads/Lines: Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon as well as Mondays and/or Tuesdays from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm (1/2 hour lunch break).Fridays - leads only with solos as requested by directors.
Ensemble will meet Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon. Any assigned rehearsal time will be sent out in the registration packet.
Dance team may meet one afternoon and one evening. Time and Day TBD.
Late rehearsals are only for the 1st 4 weeks we are at CAST. An updated schedule will be sent out in May.
Q. Where is the show held?
A. Performances are held at Manchester High School. We anticipate starting rehearsals there on Monday, July 20th. Everyone comes that week Monday-Friday from 9:00 am - noon.
Q. What does the schedule look like for the week of the show?
A. There is a morning rehearsal on Monday and an evening dress rehearsal on Tuesday.
Q. When are the performances?
A. Wednesday and Thursday, July 29 & 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm and Friday and Saturday, July 31 and August 1, 2020 at 7:00 pm.
Q. What music is being used for the audition?
A. Once you fill out the audition form, you will receive an auto-response back with more information.
