WINTER/SPRING 2022 UPDATED PROGRAM INFORMATION SHEET
CAST continues to monitor all recommendations set forth by the CDC, the State of Connecticut and the Town of Manchester with regard to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This Information Sheet is subject to modification based on changes in governing guidelines and recommendations.
The pandemic is a fluid situation and protocols could change at a moment’s notice. Please check our website for any current COVID updates.
2022 CAST Studio COVID-19 policies:
We will be holding programs for ages 4-18. The fall session is to be in person; however, we will remain flexible acknowledging the current environment we are working in and following recommendations set forth by the CDC, the State of Connecticut and the Town of Manchester with regard to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) for any classes/programs that will be held in person, including providing contact tracing information to the appropriate entities. Planned class size is no more than 20 students with a maximum class size of no more than 30 people at a time in the studio including staff, and everyone is fully masked while indoors.
Class Size Groupings and Spacing for In Person Programming:
CAST classes will have no more than 20 students per class and will include up to 5 CAST staff members. The CAST class schedule will be modified as needed to allow for maximum group distancing. There will be no snacks or water provided by CAST, students are to bring their own water bottle to class with their name on it.
There will be deep cleaning and sanitizing of the facility throughout the day, following all recommended guidelines. In the event a student is not feeling well they will be isolated from the group and immediate pick up will be required. The CAST office area will be restricted to the public, and will only be available by appointment. There will be no indoor waiting area.
Masks/Face Coverings and Social Distancing:
As recommended by the CDC, all CAST students and staff will be required to wear masks or face coverings throughout the day. Face shields or masks will be utilized for singing, and shields will be provided by CAST if needed. Masks must be worn during drop off procedures and until the student returns to their car at the end of programming. Students will be required to observe any social distancing guidelines, and follow instructions and directions provided by CAST staff to maintain social distancing strategies.
Drop Off Procedures:
Any student or staff member not feeling well should stay home. Masks must be worn by all students and staff at drop off / upon building entry. Procedures may be adjusted to adhere to guidelines as necessary. All entrances and exits will be through the front ramp. Students driving their own cars will park in the CAST parking lot behind the building. All students and staff members will wash their hands or use hand sanitizer upon entering CAST for the day.
Pick Up Procedure:
Students will be dismissed after class to the porch area on Summit Street and supervised until pick up. Families are expected to arrive on time to expedite dismissal.
All staff will wear masks or face coverings in public spaces, and other personal protective equipment as deemed appropriate. Distancing guidelines will be followed and administered by CAST staff during the program day.
Informed Consent Forms:
All CAST families will be required to sign an “Informed Consent Form” on the risks of COVID-19 prior to sending their child/children to CAST. The consent form will be part of the registration form required prior to starting the program and will be posted on our website.
The wording on the registration form will be: By signing this 2022 UPDATED PROGRAM INFORMATION SHEET, I agree to abide by the necessary measures as outlined above. I agree to disclose to CAST any known COVID-19 exposure or required quarantine measures. Failure to complete and sign this form will prevent access to CAST programming and the facility.
We feel a particular responsibility to our young students that may be unable to be vaccinated. It is our goal to keep all students and staff safe and healthy. We will continue to re-evaluate our COVID policies with local town guidelines. It is our intention to re-evaluate this policy in the spring.

Be advised that CAST, INC. d.b.a. CAST children’s theatre is following state, local and municipal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. CAST has taken enhanced health and safety measures in accordance with recommended guidelines. All families and children must follow published instructions while participating in CAST programs, events and while on the CAST premises.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death in adults and children. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and individuals with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. This includes children who are health-compromised or with underlying medical conditions.
By visiting the CAST premises or participating in CAST programs and events, you (on behalf of yourself and your child/children), voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. CAST program and event participants, family members, and all involved with (or on) CAST premises will assume all risk with regard to their exposure to the contagious COVID-19 virus.
**Please note: Given the unpredictability of the variants, we will continue to consult with and follow the guidance of the CDC, the state of Connecticut and local health officials. We will all need to be flexible and understand that as we continue to work in the best interest of our CAST community, there will likely be changes and updates.
