Donna Mercier

Donna Mercier is a co-founder and Executive Director of CAST Inc. She is retired from the Manchester Board of Education where she was a paraprofessional for special education students and the drama coach at Illing Middle School. She has directed over 180 plays with thousands of students over the past 34 years. Donna has danced since the age of 3 with Mary Dunphy and Beverly and the late A. Lee Burton continuing until she was in her 40's. She studied voice with the late Charlotte Gray, Donna Schaffer and Carolyn Fisher.

 

Donna is a former Town Director and staunch advocate of the Arts, serving as a past chairperson of the Manchester Arts Commission for 7 years. She attended Lowell State Teachers College as a Vocal Major and received scholarships from Hartford Conservatory of Music.

 

Mrs. Mercier acts as a mentor to many of her theater students, encouraging their talents in the business side of production, including directing, choreography, music direction, improv, office management, fundraising and tech work. She has performed with Little Theatre of Manchester as a child and again as an adult in "The Sound of Music" and as Eulalie McKennie Shinn in "The Music Man". She also performed in CAST After Dark's production of "Seussical" as the Sour Kangaroo.
